Care Partner to Caregiver is an educational partner with Seniors Living Smarter in Georgetown. Seniors Living Smarter offers in-person and on-line free educational monthly seminars. The goal of the free seminars is to equip, educate, and inspire seniors to make informed choices and empowered decisions concerning lifestyle goals (Seniors Living Smarter).

Intern - Community Outreach Partner

Brain Degenerative Disorders, Social Work, Health Care & Public Relations​

This part-time internship job provides professional learning opportunities in health and/or public relations fields. This role supports our growing business by promoting our services, developing educational programs, providing administrative duties, and developing relationships with potential clients and organizations which care for loved ones with memory issues. Work is completed in 18-20 hours per month, remotely and at in- person events. Aside from required on-site event attendance on the second Thursday of the month in Georgetown, TX (3 hours plus travel) and some Austin events; flexibility and remote work is required. College credit may be granted in coordination with a faculty advisor and a formal internship program.​

Qualifications

  • 1 – 2 years of education toward a bachelor’s degree in social work, Nursing, Health-related field, Gerontology, or Neuroscience (study of the brain and nervous system) and any Memory loss (Dementia) related area. Master’s degree students in related fields are also encouraged to apply.

  • Experience creating, posting, managing content for newsletters and/or social media environment (photos and text) using standard software programs such as Microsoft WORD, Publisher or Canva.

  • Must have reliable transportation, or a personal vehicle.

  • State of Texas Driver’s License, or ability to get one within 60 days of employment; good driving record; access to reliable transportation for monthly community event within Williamson County, Northern Travis County, or within 50 miles of Georgetown TX. Must hold and maintain basic Texas vehicle liability insurance.

  • Able to successfully pass a criminal background; no felonies or convictions permitted.

  • Professional experience in an office or public relations environment.
